Michael Keropian

Michael Keropian has spent over 50 years turning clay, bronze, and stone into likeness and form. A Fellow of the National Sculpture Society and current Sculpture Chairperson of the Hudson Valley Art Association, he trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts — the oldest art school in the country — before spending a decade at the Tallix Sculpture Foundry mastering every stage of the casting process. Notable Work

Michael's public commissions range widely in scale and subject: nine heroic-size tiger sculptures for Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, historic monuments across the Hudson Valley region, and portrait busts and memorial plaques for private and civic clients alike. His work sits in both public spaces and private collections, and reflects a career built on equal parts technical mastery and historical curiosity — he often works alongside historians and scholars when a commission calls for it.

Teaching at Fallsview Arts

Michael now brings over five decades of sculptural experience directly to students in Westchester and Putnam County, NY. His Portrait Sculpture classes walk students through the same fundamentals he's relied on throughout his career: armature-building, proportion, and the anatomy of the head.
